Re: Starlight Enclave: The Aevendrow (some spoolers)
True, but RAS has been put in charge of everything drow now, and both he and WotC have done nothing but dismissing the work of authors like Ed or Elaine, while praising themselves. Both he and WotC are parading about how "woke" they are, how they're going to "save" the drow, afte...

Yeah, that review lined with what I learned from the ARC readers.Bhaern Quel wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 8:35 pm Over at Candlekeep was a scroll about that book. The review was not kind.

Re: Starlight Enclave: The Aevendrow (some spoolers)
Their really are not any conflicts from the Aevendrow in the book, sure they talk about the memory wiping thing, by the four companions basically agree that they would let them do it to them anyways and it basically has no bearing on the plot afterwards. Hell, the only conflict in the story comes f...

Re: Starlight Enclave: The Aevendrow (some spoolers)
Can't read RAS' stuff, honestly. It looks like the dude doesn't know the basic principles behind creative writing, how the brain creates models of the stuff it reads. The result is that he tells even while trying to show, that concepts like the character filter are entirely alien to his writing, tha...

Re: Priestess of Eilistraee Magic card
The official translation is out, it says: Eilistraee teaches us that we are not bound by the circumstances of our birth. We all may find beauty and light, if we have the courage to seek them. Here's the bigger resolution of the art. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E5Eb15VVIAEKcW5?format=jpg&name=lar...

Re: Priestess of Eilistraee Magic card
Yeah, but what matters is that WotC is acknowledging it. They're pushing for all IPs being connected (look at all the MtG D&D settings) and on the same page, if the MtG team includes Eilistraee and Trelasarra, then it likely means that the D&D team won't do away with them.

Priestess of Eilistraee Magic card
So, there's an upcoming Forgotten Realms-inspired Magic card set, and a new priestess of Eilistraee, that Ed introduced in 2020, will be featured on one card. The card was leaked by a Chinese site: https://nga.178.com/read.php?tid=27393745&rand=432 The flavor text reads: Eilistraee has taught us...

Re: New info re: the Changedance
It isn't weird. Gender-fluidity is a thing, so wanting to be able to transition at will surely isn't incomprehensible. I also think that being able to spend time transitioned can help men empathize more with women, and vice-versa. But for me, if I was offered a changedance, I think I'd take it and n...

Re: New info re: the Changedance
I agree entirely. Eilistraee canonically has a soft spot for outcasts, after all. She's a goddess that welcomes marginalized people and makes them feel at home.

New info re: the Changedance
As perhaps you will remember, the Changedance was a ritual that aspiring male priests of Eilistraee had to undergo in order to complete their training. Due to Eilistraee's nature being tied to motherhood, the difficulty to make male priests, and for male priests to fully cleave to Eilistraee, was ov...
