Eilistraee.com

As much arm twisting as it took I finally finished the War of the Spider Queen series. I am not sure if the writing got better towards the end or if my expectations just kept getting lower and lower until it finally became good.

I've read Drizzt up until Spellplague, I've read Liriel's trilogy. Where should I be getting my next Lore/Drow fix?

If you want more drow, to my knowledge Drizzt is all that there is that you haven't read yet (unless you are up to date with RAS. But even if you are, Drizzt books will just keep coming, so...). There's ''Lady Penitent'', if you [i:17pnohml]really[/i:17pnohml] want to go there, but -you know- with all the bullcrap events going on in there (not that I am blaming or criticizing the author for that, the commission came from WotC), I would personally feel very discouraged from reading those books.

There is also [url=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Evermeet-Island ... t:2wuogvu2]Evermeet: Island of Elves[/url:2wuogvu2]. It's more about the other elves, but does include bits about drow. It starts with the drow/elven deities and the fall of Lolth and all that. And has some ancient elven history. I think probably the only novel where Eilistraee is (briefly) an active character (instead of a deity fairly in the background).

And there is [url=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silverfall-Seve ... d:2wuogvu2]Silverfall[/url:2wuogvu2] which is divided into seven parts, one for each of the Seven Sisters (one of which is Qilué Veladorn, Chosen of Eilistraee). I must say that I didn't enjoy it that much, the story is a bit too disjointed, but it gives you a bit more drow story.

But for novels with drow as the main character throughout I think you're pretty much covered. There's all the Drizzt stuff (and I think a few with Jarlaxle), there's the Liriel novels, the War of the Spider Queen series and the Lady Penitent series.

Of course you could always go into fan fiction or look at dark elves in other settings if you want to go there.

Yeah, Ed's style often has multiple plots going on at the same time, it can lessen the enjoyment of the novels for some readers. However his novels are usually full of FR lore and explore and expand on it, enriching the world and giving us insight of it (and it is what novels set in a fantasy world should do: explore and expand on it, not smash stuff into pieces).

I plan to go for Lady Penitent later after the bad taste from War of the Spider Queen has worn off. But Evermeet and Silverfall sounds good. I guess it's the 'strong women' thing that keeps me interested in Forgotten Realms so the Seven Sister carry a certain appeal too. I admit I've been quite curious about Simbul but I had to take a break from the Elminster stuff. I don't dare speak against Ed to much given Eilistraee is literally on the line right now. But there were times the Elminster books felt like they were trying to be softcore porn more than an adventure.
