Drow

[u:22dq0pf0]Description:[/u:22dq0pf0]

Gender: Male
Age: 105
Height: 5’5
Hair: Silver
Eyes: Light Red

He has an athletic and lean-shaped build under the chosen leathers or cloth; whichever he preferred that particular day. He is rarely seen without a hooded cloak, the cowl drawn up. The shades of the clothing always hold that of the forest color. A scent of fresh pine follows his every step indicating much of his time is spent within the woodlands.

A quiver of arrows attached to his belt, as a bow and two blades are strapped to his back suggests that this individual is a ranger. He usually carries a calm demeanor about him, and only seems to speak when he feels the need.

Although born within the Underdark to House Rilyn’tlar, Seldsyrr was taken up by renegade drow of a neighboring House who wished freedom from the grasp of the Spider Queen, and up through an enterance within Shadowdale. Brought to the surface at the age of 6, the young male did not have much memory of the Night Below, but enough to remember that it wasn’t a pleasant feeling. As the decades passed, the friendship (if that is what is was called) with those who offered him his freedom slowly waned until it became non-existant as they left the region in search of their own paths; one different from this drow. He found himself wandering the woods between Shadowdale and Daggerdale. Feeling comfortable in the wooded surroundings, he rarely left and learned how to hunt and survive on his own off the land itself now.

He would, on occasion, visit the city of Shadowdale to learn what news passed amongst the surface dwellers, however, would keep to himself as he knew drow walking upon the surface are not well taken in circles of friendship. He wished no confrontations with those who thought of all drow as evil-doers, for he knew different in his mind. It was through quiet lips and whispers through the wind from other passing, light-skinned cousins within Shadowdale that he had learned of a Daughter of the Spider Queen and Corellon. A Daughter who believed not all drow were evil in their ways and has also escaped the Queen‘s grasp. Was that possible? Thinking he was alone in his thoughts and wondering what was wrong with him not feeling any evil intentions within his blood, he felt slight relief and wondered if such a Daughter truly existed. He wished to find out for himself and continued his quest to find more about Eilistraee. He was told by those who ‘saved’ him that his name meant ‘sworn protector’. But it would appear that the name given would be that of protecting something other than what was intended.

More decades passed as he learned more of the Dark Maiden. It was time to leave. Just over one hundred years have passed, when he heard of trouble brewing hundreds of miles south on the other side of Mistledale. A place called Semberholme where it was rumored may hold enclaves of the Daughter. He also heard of such places within the High Forest, but his choice was south. Taking by foot, he traveled for many weeks until reaching the northern tip of the woods of Semberholme. More days passed before he reached a Lake. The map he pulled out showed this as Lake Sember. He was here.

Personality Profile:

Being upon the surface most of his life, he does not know the harsh upbringing he would have endured if the few of a renegade House did not free him from Below, yet through whispers and tales and what he remembered, it was not a doubtful feeling of what may have happened to him. A few of the drow which saved him and helped him learn of survival before they parted way would tell Seldsyrr stories of the Below and how lucky he was that they were there to save him from the cruelty that he would have endured in House Rilyn’tlar, for they were a cruel House of Mystery.

His entire life on the surface, he continued to fear the thought that his family would come looking for him and force his return. For that exact reason, he learned to live off the land and remain hidden within the woods surrounding Shadowdale and Daggerdale. He would hunt by night and hide by day, almost as if living in fear but felt safe alone. But he knew that would only last so long before his fears would catch up with him. It was time to search for others like him. Those who felt there was hope for the dark-skinned cousins.

Not bad, however would have blades on belt. hard to draw from back quickly.. Also might walk with bow in hand. Just ideas you might consider as your presented your character has no weapon ready to hand. At least add a short blade or dagger to belt. This is what I offer as ideas that might be useful.

In play you clearly might already have weapon in hand.
