New Here.
So yes, hello.
I am a newcomer here on these boards and just wanted to introduce myself and my character.
I just recently decided to get back into writing, RPing and satisfying my thirst for playing drows upon the rediscovery of the story I began writing May of '06.
My character is a drow, born in the Underdark to a commoner and 'adopted' (ie the mother was killed after giving birth) into one of the Ruling houses.
Lashteara'Lay was always different; quite and observant, thought to be stunted when she failed to learn how to talk until her fourth year. She has a handicap in that she can't see as well in the dark as her other Drow counterparts but a strength in that she can easily withstand light comparatively to other Drow.
When she was very very young she managed to run away while her House was being attacked by a rival House.
She spent a few traumatizing weeks alone in the Underdark as she found her way to the surface.
She knows a little magic from learning as a child in the Underdark. But the girl's greatest passion is nature so she began learning to put this love to use, though she had no name for what she was doing. She became something of a 'ranger'.
And since her coming to the faith in Eilistraee she has also taken to song and dance-- studying lore and music.
She stumbled across a group of surface drow who were faithful to Eilistraee and there she got her first taste of the goddess.
She didn't so easily abandon her faith to the Spider Queen and it took many hardships and battles against her own nature to make her realize that her goddess was one of pure hate and had abandoned her the moment she had set foot on the surface.
So she allowed herself coaxed into worship of the Dark Maiden--
Slowly beginning to understand joy in life and why it was that she had really left the Underdark...

Hi, and welcome, and all that stuff. Yep, that's it. Short and to the point.

*makes a note to self, muttering softly* Stay away from Rooky's food bowl... check.
If I can keep that in mind I'm sure my stay will be a pleasant one.
Anyway, thanks again for all the 'welcome's... I feel quite... well... welcome. *laughs*

It sounds like you'll fit right in then. Just one last question before you start posting in ernest: are you really our high priestess in disguise? You'd be amazed we ask that when someone joins but you'd also be amazed that it is necessary, eh Shirle?

Haha, nope-- I am not your (though I suppose it'd be 'our', seeing as how I'm a member) high priestess.
Just 'me'. Not 'her'.
Sorry to disappoint. *grins*
