Onix looked to Zanathie and replied, "kill one from a distance, impossible, at least with hand-held weapons, but that's the only option we've got in this Underdark, so killing them at a distance is nigh impossible, at least without a full-on barrage from about 22 of these," Onix pointed to the M92 HMG on his back.

"That being said, I'm fairly certain that a ranged kill is nye impossible, but a stun, well, that's more on the realistic side of things. Magic can work against it, just some magics can, and before you ask, no I don't know what kind of magics do and don't work on the Leechers. It's really a trial and error type of scenario. As to what can stun it, [b:23iu16jt]any[/b:23iu16jt] concussive force to the head will do the trick."

Ironside was cleaning his vulcan when Grisnaw asked his question; the clone glanced up more from sheer awe and honesty himself than anything.
"What would I recommend for you; try one of those," Ironside pointed towards the assortment of shotguns that lined the wall to one side.

The heavy weapons specialist then looked around at different helmets that might actually fit the gargoyle. He decided upon a dwarven helmet, for the gargoyle's head was just about as big as one.
"Well there ya go," Ironside said to the gargoyle.

They are a perfect weapon, can't you see? Send a few to a world of those who oppose you and watch them getting eaten alive by these beasts. [/color:27uf2gym]

Maryne shuddered, "And these bugs found their way here somehow, meaning that fate might soon be ours." Noting Lynx's look, she added, "And, please, don't take it the wrong way. I was merely curious. I've found firsthand helping in causes I know nothing about doesn't always end up well."

The bug in the hologram finished draining the second screaming elf, and dropped the corpse onto the ground. Onix ended the recording.[/color:27uf2gym]

Maryne averted her eyes, biting her lip to keep from jumping back and yelling in disgust. She turned a bit away, nodding, "Then that means it's best we remove them from Toril as soon as humanely possible. Would it harm them if we attacked their nest directly, Onix?"

She smiled at Lynx, "As for Detect Magic, I can help with that. Just let me know where you want it placed."

Lothir grinned at Pyro's remarks. "Why does that not surprise me?" he quips, looking at him with a dubious expression. "I guess some people are just slow learners." He shrugs, and turns to Stalker. "I'm not entirely sure, but I think he's a Drunken Master. I've never met one before, but I've heard they can be dangerous."

Scar caught the bottle Drakin threw at him and started drinking again. After hearing Stalker asked the question about what drove him into the frenzy he shook his head and downed the rest of the bottle.

"Vigil." He said to Stalker as he was starting to feel the buzz from the liquor.

Scar turns towards Drakin and just shakes his head as in no, because if Drakin was missing something Scar sure as hell didn't know what it was.

Stalker heard Scar's remark about 'Vigil' and decided to drop the issue; usually anything that caused that kinda reaction was guaranteed to screw up anyone in the head. The sniper merely nodded at the monk and let him do what he was dong.

Pyro looked at Lothir and returned the grin; "oh, you should see how many times I've actually had female marines just come up to me and ask if I'd deck their asshole of a boyfriend or fiance for them," he snickered, "which I generously obliged them, only to find myself, well. . . um. . . . waking up in. . . unforeseen circumstances. Now our squad leader on the other hand, he's wound up tighter than a carbon nano-cable. I haven't seen him get. . . . .well anything, really, doesn't even a take a decent drink when he has the chance."

Onix looked to Maryne and nodded, "inhumanly possible is within my vocabulary, miss, as far as time is concerned" the clone said in a low tone; and yes, it would harm them directly if we attacked their nest, for that is exactly what I intend to do. I've never had the chance to fight these things just when they hatched or are young, but my guess is they'll be a little easier to kill than a full grown adult, but make no mistake, there [b:28092e51]will[/b:28092e51] guards in that place. You can count on that."

"Oh and Maryne, these things were created for the sole purpose of being an expendable but reliable weapon to take down the ESAF, which is what I fight for and with against these things. You could also say I was created for the exact purpose of fighting these Leechers, as were my brothers; and as for these bugs being a human creation, no, they were created by something that had a firm grasp on dark magics, which at the moment, my forces don't have the capability to grasp, so we fight them with what we do have, technology. Also if you want 'one of those human things', you're staring at one; I was created by humans and elves, a perfect hybrid designed with the sole intention of hunting down and killing these bugs. Yes, Maryne, I wasn't 'born' by natural processes, but I was created, a being [b:28092e51]engineered[/b:28092e51] to do one specific task to the best of its ability." The clone hated saying those words, but they were as much of a truth to him as anything else was, his armor included.
He watched Maryne's reaction, gauging her by her expression.

He gapes at Pyro's response, and looks at him in a half-puzzled, half-nervous way. "Y'know, I'm not even sure I want to know about those circumstances. Then again, like I said before, I've had a few rude awakenings myself. The mushroom incident for one- a friend gave it to me without telling me what it did, or not to drink wine with it. I woke up under a table with a bad headache and a nasty taste in my mouth. Then there was the time I spent half a day trapped under a dead cavefisher I'd killed. I'd jumped on top of it and drove my sword into the back of its shell,, but it tried to climb the tunnel wall to get away- and gravity took effect. The sword opened a huge crack in the shell, I fell off in the slippery goo coming out, and then IT came down right on top of me!"

He laughs a little at the memory, then sighs, shrugging at Pyro. "It would have been funny at the time, if I hadn't broken some ribs, either from the fall or the heavy thing falling on me- not sure which. If an aranea I knew hadn't come looking for me when I didn't come back, I wouldn't be here now. The tunnel I was in was secret. No one in our House but me even knew it was there, so no one would have ever found me. Not that they would have spent much time looking."

Pyro again snickers, though this time giving the bard the straight of it; "Lothir what I meant by that is I've had one to many one-night stands, that's all, personally I blame it on this stuff."
The clone uncorked the bottle of liquor that he'd been tossed from the barkeep, and took a good swig of it. The stuff burned its way down his throat, but the clone didn't get one reaction from it, just smiling as he felt the warming feeling of the drink.

"Never gets old," he chuckled.

"Now why doesn't THAT surprise me, either?" He says with a grin, and nods. "Yes, I knew what you meant- I've had a few too many of those myself. Mostly unwilling, mind you. Matrons can be SOOO demanding!" He laughs, and winks at Pyro.
When he addressed her, she crossed her arms in the Underdark greeting of peace, "vendui," she said politely, "i was only walking around admiring this, great ship, and I seam to have come to a dead end."
of course she didn't want to fight and prayed it didn't come to it, but if they tried to imprison her, she had her hands near a blade, tho she would have to remember to not make a lethal strike.[/quote:1tn225b5]

Witmor raised a brow at Zarae's greeting but brushed the thought off, thinking that it must have been a customary greeting on the planet, Toril.
The captain, however much to the marines surprise, replied "A great ship it is indeed, Zarae Zyne; I sometimes myself am caught in awe at its engineering."

"Sir, isn't she supposed to be with the other civilians?" one of the marines asked, kinda worried when the drowess moved a hand near her blade.

"Negligible, Marine; she'll come with me. I was going to pay our gunners a visit anyway," he gave a slight smile to the troopers. The marines chuckled at the captain's remark of a snap inspection from Witmor on the gunners of the [i:1tn225b5]Nighthammer's[/i:1tn225b5] main guns.

"If you would Miss, please come with me; these fine gentlemen have a patrol to return to, and if you [b:1tn225b5]are[/b:1tn225b5] interested in seeing what's behind that door," he indicated the one she was accused of trying to get into, "then perhaps, you'd be more inclined to accompany me, hmmm?"

"It's a crazy world we live in," Zana commented when she heard what Onix's purpose was. "Some are here to guard the beasts, and there are those created for the soul purpose of destroying them." She shook her head, trying to understand the backwards world she lived in. She felt sympethy towards the clones, an emotion she'd really never felt before. [i:1tdan020]It's just wrong. Being bred for a specific purpose, and not having a choice in whether you want to do that or not.[/i:1tdan020]

"Why are there guards around the nests?" She mumbled. "Who the hell would want to guard those things, they'll probably end up being food anyway. And you said we are going to attack the nest directly? How many Leechers live in a nest? Like is it communal, or is it just one Leecher and a whole lot of babies?" She asked, hoping it would be the latter.

[i:1tdan020]How did we even get into this mess? We were just looking for a bounty and this happens[/i:1tdan020], Vlad said.

[i:1tdan020]Would you rather help save the world we know, or get the bounty?[/i:1tdan020] Zana said bluntly.

[i:1tdan020]I wasn't complaining, just simply going through what has happened[/i:1tdan020], Vlad said defensively. [i:1tdan020]Now is there any way I can assist in killing these things?[/i:1tdan020]

"Vlad wants to know if there's any way he can help in killing these things," Zana repeated his words.

"So do we need to infiltrate the base and take out a major supply of something, or infiltrate it and take everything down anyway? We can't do this without having actually engage them in anyway? For safety's sake, of course." Maryne frowned at Onix's arm, as if the video was still playing, "It just looks like if there's such a way it would be to many of our benefits." She looked at him after a moment, "Though, either way, I promise you have my full commitment. That thing can't be allowed to live."

After Onix told her of his creation, Maryne stared at him for a moment, face expressionless, unsure of how to respond, before smiling at him. Nodding in agreement with Zana, she spoke, "Well, it's good we have you here, then, isn't it? I don't think Toril could ask for a better saviour. You know nothing of us and still wish to save our world. I've rarely seen a human so ... humane ... before. The Dark Maiden would be proud of you. Perhaps once the purpose you were made for is taken care of, you shall find your own purpose in life - one you have chosen for yourself."

the rogue wanst sure if this was some trick. as much as she wanted to explore, maybe it was best for to join back up with the others. maybe even get something to eat, noticing her stomach growling before she could respond. she chuckled at herself as she moved her arms to her stomach.
"I think some grub might be a smarter choice," she replied, "tho a tour would be interesting." looking to the number panel she asked, "what number puzzle does your doors require for their wards? I have only come across a few in my time."
she still had an innocent and naive look, hoping he might give her a clue to get in when she came back.

This seems like a good spot as any. Ryltar nodded as he looked to the map and the intersecting halls he would choose to place a ward of his own. He'd take out some coal dust, and a small glass jar filled with some sort of vapor. He'd draw a symbol on the floor, an archaic one and would chant some words of power. The mist contained within the glass jar would bellow up from it and then drift to the floor. As they touched the charcoal they'd take on a crimson and ebon color. Soon enough, the symbol was completed. It was one that when an intruder crossed over it would drain them of their strength, and also summon forth a kobold whom when they perished, would spawn two in it's place, and then again until it kept the number of them at eight for a time. My magic might work differently. I don't use the weave. It's why wild magic will not affect me, nor dead magic zones. I use something else.

OOC: Sorry for the delay. Couldn't get on much yesterday and wasn't able to get on at all the day before. Just managed to get this quick before I had to go out.

The bard shrugs, and grins at the clone. "Well, maybe a few of those 'encounters' were willing, but mostly since I've been top-side. And there haven't been many of those- mostly just with one or two lovely ladies. And I make it a point NEVER to knowingly dally with another man's woman." He pauses for a momet with an almost blissful smile, remembering his brief trysts with Morgaen and Zzadrina, and with Vala especially. That brings an almost wistful look of sadness to his face.

He sighs, shaking his head, and a new thought occurs to him. "You know, you're about as crazy as a gnome I know. He's a cranky old codger, but he's NUTS about anything that creates fire or explosions. Guess that's why he specializes in alchemy and evocation. UNFORTUNATELY, he's also VERY clumsy. It's a wonder he hasn't blown HIMSELF up!" He laughs, and shakes his head again in amused puzzlement.
By the Dark Maiden''s grace do we meet. May she guide and protect us.

((OOC: This maybe my last post for the next four days or so, going to Boston woot! :D , depends if my professor gets back to me when I can take a test before I leave >_<. But, if I am able to leave my comp when I go out of town, going to keep Drakin in the tavern.))

Drakin listened to the bard's tales. "Romance with a Drow priestess are quite enjoyable," he said with a slight smile on his lips, "Up until they decide it's time to sacrifice you to Lolth," he sighed, "Could have been so much more enjoyable if she didn't try to do that to me."
