For Winter's Witch And The Dawn Of Ice

Post by Morfilmar_Desh »

A giant strode down the narrow mountain path leading up to Shimmerfrost Crag.

The spine of the world...

The wind was biting cold. The snow fell in an unrelenting manner.

He liked it.

Big steps. One after another. Big, determined steps.

They always were. He was as confident in his footing as ever.

The frost giant's vision was unhindered. Any other creature would have difficulty navigating under the weather conditions.

He came to an abrupt halt. Someone was impeding his descent.

A stranger stood in his way.

She stood atop the snow, both hands resting on her hips, a golden-wooded longbow resting casually atop her shoulder. Despite the giant's loud noises as it moved through the dangerous terrain, the young woman didn't seem to hear him, lost as she was in her own thoughts.

Thin lips pursed together in a somewhat determined posture, hiding the true unsureness as she battled two thoughts within her. The wind blew against her, wipping shoulder-length silver hair across her face. She squinted, spitting out hair and cursed, glancing behind her and seeing the giant. Silver-grey eyes widened as she stepped backwards, losing her balance and slipping on her back to fall down the mountain side.

The giant, reacting quickly, sprinted towards the slope the girl was tumbling down.

He threw himself butt-first onto his massive shield and swoshed down the mountain atop the snow in an effort to catch up to her.

He set his mighty heels into the rock as he came up next to her, halting his advance as he grabbed one of her legs.

He flicked her up on his right shoulder and resumed the speedy downward descent atop his shield, remaining perfectly silent.

Blue sparks crackled around her slender hand as she fell, a brilliant burst of light flashing as the giant caught her. Instead of trying to push it away and sticking a dagger in its eye like she normally would've done, she clung onto it tightly, closing her strange eyes as they continued their downward descent, the bright white snow blinding her as the sun reflected off of it, dizzying any.

At the bottom of the hill he watches the two slide down, he chuckles. He is amused at ones in any type of danger. He waits until they reach the bottom. When they finally do, he asks, "Hello, seems you two have had some trouble, I am new in these parts, mind telling me where a nice shelter may be?"

"Curious..." The giant thought to himself.

He observed the girl clinging so trustingly to him, taking his eyes off her only when he needed them to steer clear of any rocks, trees or any other obstacles in their path.

He smelled her hair.

"Why would she be here?"

As the slope finally leveled and their ride came to it's halt, he was met by yet another of the small ones.

This one opened his mouth to speak as soon as he had laid eyes upon him, and carelessly even dared to utter a question.

He stood up from his shield, not bothering to wait for the girl to climb off him or to put her down, and he re-strapped it to his left forearm.

The girl would now be a good 15 feet above ground.

A frown cracked the frost upon the giant's great brow.

He was utterly surprised at the amount of strangers making their appearances in such a desolate location.

"One does not seek shelter from the storms, but embraces the cold they bring." He replied in a booming voice, no struggle with the common tongue evident.

He gave the man a stern look as he gritted his teeth in irritation, producing a sound much like the cracking of ice as it's slowly breaking.

A gasp escaped slightly parted lips as the giant held her some fiteen feet above the ground. Silver eyes sparked in surprise as her gaze dropped to the ground, seeing rocks littered about the ground, lingering on Alzarath.

She clung to the giant's shoulder, muttering various choice words in different languages.

A grunting could be heard from one of several nearby trees, the small shape of the Tiefling tugging and pulling at two branches as best she could, a glare upon her face as she stared at that torn boot, bone showing beneath.

"Oh for Velsharoons Great name Kl'eril khel, why must you be as clumsy in death as you are in Life!"

A litteny of curses would follow shortly after as a figure hung from that tree, covered in an assortment of rags, scale-mail armor covering most of its frame. Its skull would be caved in partially on the right side, the bony arms holding tightly to that great sword as the shield slowly slipped from its back.

" If you break yourself again Don't expect me to keep fixing you..." Her gaze would suddenly be drawn to the Giant, a questioning look upon her face as she suddenly fell silent.

(OMG finaly a frost game. that i dont have to originate my self. Yay.)

Far far away He sat within his tower gazeing into what looked like a pool of water. Backed by pitless darkness The reflections of The odd crew of miscreants.

"So some one has Entered the Realm of Leucius Frost. They do look promising."

He closed his eyes and within the pool a Whift of snow whirled in a cyclone Shaped to form the image of this striking Half Elven.

"BOOO!!!" He exclamed to them all A mischevious grin showen on snow white teeth.

The Tieflings eyes widened in surprise at that sudden noise, her fingers moving that tree-limb just enough at that same moment to put her off balance. Down her Golem would go, crashing into the snow, leaving a deep imprint of itself as it made several disgruntled sounds. Rau on the other hand, would slip off that branch, her own body slipping straight down to land atop her Golems chain-mail armor, hardly missing that long sword.

"Sooonnnnnn offfff aaaaaa....." She would cry out, the last of her breath being forced from her body at the landing.

Hearing a body thud on the ground, followed by a yell, Zazzt turned around, an walkeing as quietly as only an elf could, went to investigate the source of the yell. He saw the tiefling on the ground pulling out a wand cast a ventriliqism spell, and called out from the other side, "Are you in need of medical assistance?"

Naketh heard the Commotion from a ways off, and made his way over to investigate it, the snow crunching under his boots. Despite the chilly weather he wasn't dressed very warm, scarcely more that a cloth shrit under his leather armor. On his head was a silver band, witha medallion placed over his left eye. There were eight rubies set into it, traveling in a line along the band. When he came upon the scene, he looked at it from a ways off and smirked. "Giants and Teiflings, how much dumber can you get?"

Hearing the slight rustle that hailed the newcomer's approach, Zazzt called out, "Halt, be you friend or foe?"
